I am a Registered Cranio-Sacral Therapist (RCST), which means I am a member of the Cranio-Sacral Therapy Association, and I graduated from the College of Cranio-Sacral Therapy in London in 2022. I decided to train after experiencing for myself just how effective cranial treatment can be, for both physical and emotional issues, and I’m so happy to be able to help other people find healing in this way. I particularly love working with babies and children; it gives them a great foundation for a healthy future, so they can thrive, learn and have fun, and if the little one is happy then it’s great for the whole family! I remember my time as a new mum as being both really wonderful and really hard, and I am always glad to help other mums in any way I can.
I would describe my approach to cranio-sacral therapy as humanist; in my work I don't refer to spirituality, only to the body and our lived experience of it. I come from a family ofscientists, and when I first started training I struggled sometimes with the fact that I couldn't explain exactly why this kind of therapy works. Over the years I have been practising, though, I have seen CST reliably provide relief from pain, anxiety, distress and exhaustion time and time again.
During a treatment, your baby or child will stay fully clothed and can be awake or asleep, in arms, lying on the massage table, feeding or in any position that makes them feel safe and happy. Older children can sit or lie, with a blanket and a cuddly toy or something to play with if they would like that. It’s fine for kids to roam too - they don’t need to stay still for long periods. I will always be guided by what your little one needs.
At the start of the session we’ll spend a bit of time talking through symptoms, what you’ve noticed about your baby or child, maybe how the pregnancy and birth were, and any otherrelevant things. When we’ve all settled in a bit, I’ll take up gentle contact on baby’s body to feel for any tensions, restrictions, twists or blocks and to help them to release.
You can ask as many questions as you like, at any point in the treatment, and I’ll explain what I’m doing as I go. Afterwards your child will likely seem more relaxed, happier, andmore like themself. Sometimes one treatment is all that is needed to resolve any issues, and at other times it may take a few sessions to eliminate symptoms.
Appointments last up to an hour, though we may not need the whole time.
Rather than one fixed price for a treatment, I offer a range. You can pay anything from £40 to £70, according to what is affordable for you. Payment is by bank transfer, by the end of the day we meet, and I’ll send you all the details you need for that when you book.
