Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a branch of Chinese Medicine that can be traced back more than 2000 years. It is based on the principle that a blockage or disturbance in the flow of the body’s life energy (Qi) can lead to illnesses.

The aim of acupuncture treatment is to restore and maintain the body’s physical and emotional balance. The treatment involves the insertion of very fine (hair-thin) needles into specific points on the body to regulate the flow of Qi, the body’s vital energy, stimulate a natural healing response, and promote relaxation. In other words, acupuncture can allow your mind and body to be in sync, so you can thrive!!

I have been a practising acupuncturist since 2014, working in both the UK and France. I have a diploma in Traditional Chinese Acupuncture from IEATC and a Bachelor of Clinical Medical Biology from Tehran University in Iran. I completed my clinical training at Beijing International Acupuncture Training Centre in China in 2014, where I specialised in treating women suffering from gynaecological disorders. I have also taken a wide range of courses in Oriental Medicine and Neuroscience.

I follow the wisdom of Chinese philosophy and Taoism in my daily life. I practice Qi Gong and Tai Qi, and eat according to the wisdom of Chinese medicine.  All of these things contribute to my skills as a practitioner.

I have experience of treating a wide range of physical and mental-emotional disorders in men and women of all ages.

Acupuncture is one of the oldest known forms of medicine and is increasingly popular in today’s complex world. It offers a safe and pain-free method of addressing a range of mental and physical conditions. It can also help improve your feeling of balance and general wellbeing. Treatments are tailored to the requirements of the individual. They can be used independently or alongside conventional medicine to address the underlying cause and the symptoms of an issue. This will simultaneously help you to heal and restore health.

A little about me...
I create a safe and supportive environment where I listen to your concerns and perform treatments designed to create profound improvements in your health and quality of life. Having studied at The College of Integrated Chinese Medicine, in Reading, I integrate both Five Elements and Traditional Chinese Medicine to create bespoke treatments.

Sophie retrained as a Five Element Acupuncturist with Gerad Kite at Yellow Path in London after working in arts and heritage for 20 years. Five Element Acupuncture is a spiritual tradition and was used in Ancient China to treat chronic and acute conditions, as well as to prevent illness.

People come to Sophie for help when they are struggling with physical or emotional symptoms, feel out of sorts or stuck in a rut. If you are feeling well, treatment keeps you feeling well and helps you evolve. During treatments, Sophie diagnoses the underlying cause, clears blocks and restores balance using fine needles and warmth (moxa). There is always time to talk at the start of each treatment.
