Coaching for Teens

Coaching for teenagers is a supportive and empowering process that helps young people navigate challenges, build confidence, and develop essential life skills.

Using a collaborative and goal-focused approach, coaching provides structure, encouragement, and practical strategies to help teens manage school pressures, relationships, and personal growth. By fostering self-awareness and resilience, coaching equips teenagers with the tools to make informed decisions, improve emotional well-being, and create positive change in their lives.

Coaching is a non-therapeutic intervention. It may incorporate elements of psychoeducation and can effectively complement treatments such as medication or psychotherapy, but it is not intended to replace them.

I’m a recovery coach specializing in supporting individuals recovering from eating disorders or other difficulties with eating, exercise, or body image. My role is to help you identify what you want to change in your life and then help you make that happen—wherever you are in your recovery. My approach has three key emphases:

  1. Behaviour—Making small (or sometimes big!) practical changes in everyday life to find out what kinds of transformation they might lead to.
  2. Agency—Nurturing your capacity to figure things out, make decisions, and articulate goals for yourself.
  3. Identity—Exploring how the little details of your life can be daringly reimagined to shape who you are and become who you want to be.

I am not a therapist, nor do I offer medical treatment. Coaching is a practical approach that may be a better fit for you if you’re ready to reshape your life. I typically work with individuals for a minimum of four weeks, and I offer a range of ways for us to be in touch between sessions to help you stay confident with the changes you’re making and learn as much as possible from them.

I’m a Senior Practitioner accredited by the European Mentoring & Coaching Council, with a background in research in the health humanities, consciousness studies, and the science of eating disorders. I also write extensively on these topics, including for Psychology Today and as co-author of Consciousness: An Introduction.

Beyond recovery coaching, I offer academic coaching for students, researchers, and faculty who want to change their work/life habits and attitudes or navigate a career transition. These areas have many overlaps with recovery-focused work, and if you wish, I’ll be happy to explore an approach that combines the two.

If you’re interested, you can visit my website to schedule a free 30-minute discovery call. I look forward to exploring how we could work together.

Dionysios is an ADHD coach supporting individuals in three key areas—studies, work and family:

Academic life and studies: Coaching university students with ADHD, from undergraduate to doctoral level, with a focus on improving their academic performance by developing personalised skills and strategies for managing ADHD-related challenges such as procrastination, issues with concentration, time management, organisation and prioritisation, impulse control and low confidence and self-esteem.

Career development and transition: Career coaching for individuals with ADHD at various career stages, focusing on developing coping strategies to manage obstacles associated with ADHD in the workplace, improving clients’ happiness and motivation in their current roles, or helping them explore more fulfilling career paths.

Raising children with ADHD: Coaching parents and caregivers of children with ADHD, providing tailored strategies and tools and working collaboratively in a structured, empathetic and non-judgemental approach to help them more effectively manage the challenges of ADHD parenting while nurturing their children’s abilities and strengths.

At the core of Dionysios’ coaching philosophy is a deeply rooted belief in the transformative power of individualised support to help individuals uncover patterns and habits that impede their growth and create a life aligned with their core values and aspirations. In a typical session with Dionysios, clients can expect an atmosphere that is relaxed yet highly focused, friendly yet result-oriented. Driven by empathy, proactive encouragement and evidence-based methods, he ensures that each session is customised to meet his clients’ unique needs and challenges, propelling them closer to a positive change.

Dionysios holds the Guildhall Certificate in Coaching & Mentoring, accredited by the European Mentoring & Coaching Council (EMCC), and serves as Co-Chair and Director of the Professional Association of Specific Learning Difference Specialists in Higher Education (PASSHE). His academic journey includes studying music at City University London, earning a Master’s degree from the University of Cambridge, working as a research fellow at Harvard University, and obtaining a doctorate from the University of Oxford. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), a primary school SEND Governor, and has completed the PASSHE Level 5 Course in Teaching Students with Specific Learning Differences in Further and Higher Education.
